While McKenzie doesn’t have a formal education in art, she has experimented with different mediums since she was a child. She is inspired by interior design, architecture and all styles of art. Studying the impressionistic movement has influenced her the most, and over time she has developed a unique layered texture that her work is known for.
McKenzie's work consists of oil paint on stretched canvas applied entirely with palette knives. No additives are used during the application process, and all paintings are created without visual references.
