Randy has worked in several media over the last few years, but now focuses more on his painting technique. The subjects of his paintings are usually from his life experiences. He continuously collects photos of anything that catches his attention. His style from afar is almost realist, but there is enough alteration in color and shapes to draw the viewer in. Once up close, his work has interesting imagery and textures from the magazine transfers.
Randy’s process involves transferring ink from recycled magazines onto a thin layer of beeswax. The result is a mosaic-like field of color that makes up a larger image.
